Affordable, clean energy & light from repurposed batteries - powering homes, schools and futures

What we do.

At PowerWells, we give discarded batteries a second life — transforming e-waste into clean, reliable energy solutions for communities without electricity.

Every system we build provides light for study, power for devices, and hope for the future, while also keeping toxic waste out of landfill.

We work with schools, communities, and corporate partners to deliver projects that are sustainable, scalable, and deeply impactful — in Australia and around the world.

How We Create Impact

International Development

We collaborate with local distributors in remote regions, training them to manufacture, install, and maintain home solar systems. This builds skills, jobs, and long-term sustainability in the communities we serve.

School Programs

We inspire young people with hands-on workshops where they assemble real solar systems from repurposed materials. Their work powers homes overseas, teaching both STEM skills and social responsibility.

Corporate Engagement

We support organisations to meet their CSR and ESG goals. Together we create circular economy solutions for IT equipment, deliver engaging staff team-building workshops, and showcase corporate leadership in sustainability.

Help Us Make an impact today

So far over 1,300 PowerWell units impact has been :

  • 💡 75,000+ Hours of non polluting light provided to communities

  • 🔋 15,000 Device charges from home solar systems

  • ♻️ 10 Tonnes of e-Waste diverted from Landfill

  • 🌍 5 Countries Impacted (Australia, Indonesia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and PNG)

What We Make.

Hardware

Home Solar Systems

Our systems are built from repurposed Lithium-Ion batteries and recycled materials (Plastic and Perspex), designed to be durable, repairable, and affordable. With solar panels and LED lights, they provide households with safe, non-polluting energy and lighting.

Our systems are designed to be long-lasting, easy to manufacture, repair and maintain.

Smart Software

Our technology includes a smart Battery Management System to extend the life of the batteries, and a PAYGo platform, enabling families to pay in small, affordable increments over time.

It also tracks impact — measuring energy generated, hours of lighting provided, and devices charged.

How we Make it.

E-Waste Recovery

We partner with Corporates and Government Departments to collect and process end-of-life IT equipment. Materials are either recycled responsibly or repurposed into PowerWells systems.

Repurpose for Good

Lithium-ion batteries are tested and given a second life. Perspex panels from old TV’s and monitors are laser cut for enclosures. Volunteers, students, and partners help transform this waste into something powerful.

Energy for Communities

The result: affordable home solar systems that bring light and electricity to families who have never had access before, replacing kerosene lamps, improving health, and opening new opportunities.
